For one of our prestigious
multinational clients, we are looking for an AS/400 Senior Technical Lead
(COBOL/400). Our client is an established name in the space of software
development and consultancy. This position is based at Gurgaon – Delhi NCR,
India.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As an AS/400 Senior Technical Lead (COBOL/400)
you will be responsible for all facets of project delivery for multiple
projects. Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Handle multiple
AS/400 projects in COBOL/400 environment covering all technical aspects
- Client Interaction
- Guidance to the
teams in Technical design, development, and trouble shooting
- Establishing/improving
the coding standards to be followed
- Leading complex
designs in terms of application and database design
- Conducting
Code-Walk-Through with teams
- Understanding the
requirements of projects from users, and implementing them & map them into
high level design
- Designing Functional &
Technical specifications documents, and flow diagrams following the standards
- Leading all phases of the
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from analysis through
Maintenance
- Projects could include new system design and creation,
interfaces and integration, native AS400 based solutions, writing data
extracts, new reports, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications
etc.
- Working and handling projects with overlap with US Timings
is possible. In most cases, real-time client interaction till 12 noon US EST
will be required.
- Team
Handling from 10 to 20 programmers

- Do you have an engineering /
MCA degree?
- Do you have 15-18 years
experience in IT with majority in AS/400?
- Do you have excellent
communication skills?
- Are you with strong coding
background and technical mind with ability to lead and mentor technical teams?
- Do you experience in all phases of the Software
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from analysis through Maintenance?
- Do you have experience in handling multiple
projects concurrently?
- Are you a hands-on person with ability to
design and write quick code to demonstrate concepts?
- Are you an expert in COBOL/400,
CL/400, SQL/400, and DB2/400?
- Do you have excellent SQL query skills, with top notch data
analysis, coding design, data structures and database design skills, with
solution design and design thinking frame of mind?
- Have you managed teams in AS/400
projects in COBOL/400 environment?
- Are you open to travel abroad (US)
for short durations frequently?
